Thanks to my student teacher, Ms.Rosland since I modeled the ring after
hers.(I'm not sure is stone sizes are right) If it weren't for her, I
wouldn't have an engagement ring for Nick to give to Nat. WARNING: not beta
read.(too excited to beta read. wanted to post it a.s.a.p.)


"Merry Christmas, My Love"

"Okay, Nat, I want you to open yours first." Nick said cheerfully. Natalie
picked up the large box that was under the tree and carried it over to the
couch where Nick was sitting. She ripped it open to reveal another layer of
wrapping paper. When she got to the bottom of that layer, she found another
layer. She threw an evil, but playful, glance at Nick. When she got to the
box itself, she lifted the top off and saw it was full of packaging peanuts.

"Nick?" She asked, a little peeved because she thought he was playing a
practical joke on her.

"Dig a little." She dug around and found a smaller box that she opened to
show another little box that was wrapped *once*. When she got the paper
off, she saw the little box was a white velvet ring box. She gasped and Nick
took it from her, kneeling in front of her while she sat on the couch.

"Natalie Lambert, you are the love of my life and I can't imagine it without
you. Will you marry me?" He said.

"Yes." Natalie choked on the word from pure happiness, so she added, "Yes,
Nicholas de Brabant, I will marry you." Nick jumped up and swept her up into
his arms all the while kissing her. He put her down for enough time to slip
the 2 carot princess cut diamond, accompanied by a round 1/4 carot on each
side of the ring on her finger. She looked down at the ring and as tear slid
down her cheek. The diamond was clearer than her tear. It was beautiful. "I
love you so much, Nick. It's beautiful."

"Not as beautiful as you, My Love." They kissed again and Nick swept her up
into his arms once again. He started walking towards the stair case, when Nat
stopped kissing him and demanded to be put down on the floor.

"Nick, open my present to you before we make love, please." She asked. Nick
pouted at having to stop their kissing, but obeyed and picked up the gift. He
unwrapped it to reveal a glass bottle with a fancy pewter encasing around it.
Looking up at Nat, he gave her a hopeful, questioning look and said, "Nat, is
this what I'm hoping it is?"

"Yes, Nick, it's your mortality." She was so happy to have found the cure. It
had taken her six years of hard work, but she had suceeded and she had won.
Nick drank the contents of the bottle and what happened to him after that was
too much to describe with words.

(Later that night)

Natalie and Nick were lying in Nick's bed under the soft black satin sheets,
in eachother's arms. They had both gotten what they had always wanted...Love
and Eachother.
