I write this story to tell what I think happened to those characters left behind after the end of "Last Knight", so this is a spoiler for those who haven't seen the end of the series. I always wondered about Jenny and Myra and knew Nick would take care of them and I believe this is how it might have happened. This story is based of the television show "Forever Knight" which was produced by Parriot and Cohen for Tristar and Columbia tele vision. All the usual disclaimers etc. etc. etc. Please send all comments to Lee Belsky who uses her husbands account which is neil@execulink.com JENNY "The cheque came in the mail today as it does every 1st and 15th" she sipped her coffee as she surveyed the remains of the dinner. "Since the day my Dad died those cheques have been as regular as clockwork." "God, that must be twenty years now." her husband gasped, "I never even knew they were here." "Well, Mom took care of it for years...and now that she's gone I guess I get the full responsibility." Jenny reached over and examined the dollar amount. "It even keeps up with inflation. Look, Mike, it's made out in Mom's name. I wonder if the policy died with her." Mike Czerny knew Jenny Schanke since the ninth grade and had probably fallen in love with her then. He thought it was lust but at 14 he wanted to lust after a girl. Jenny's father had been dead for many years, killed in a plane crash but her mother, Myra, was a super lady. They had married in college and had a good life together. He knew there had to be money from somewhere but had never imagined how much. "Help me clean up." She stood and began gathering plates together. "I never wanted for anything...except a father. I had his partner in my life for a year or so afterward but he disap peared. That was a real mystery." The sound of falling furni ture stopped the conversation. "MIKE. DON. NICK. Quiet down!!!" Mike yelled at his sons. "There are times when I think we should have named them Larry, Moe and Curly." He was rewarded with a smile from his pretty wife. "Is there a number on that cheque to call. Since your mom has...passed away...the insurance company or whatever should be informed." "You're right. That's why I married a lawyer." "So why did I marry a doctor. Hey, why you phoning now? It isn't exactly banking hours." "You wash the dishes and I'll do this...these people are always on line. You watch, I'll probably get my own personal high mucky muck on the first try." Jenny punched in the numbers and watched the videophone screen. After two rings the image of a receptionist came on-line "Hello. The Brabant Foundation, how may I help you?" "Hi, this is Jennifer Schanke-Czerny. I would like to speak to.." "Oh." the girl cut her off, "You are on our preferred list. I'll patch you in right away." The screen-saver clicked in. "I'm impressed," Mike leaned over her shoulder and smiled at his wife. "I have to see this guy." The screen coalesced and the face of a beautiful brunette woman filled the viewer. "Jennifer, this is Janette duCharme, it has been too long since I heard from the Schankes. How may I help you?." "See honey, I told you so." Jenny kissed Mike before she turned back to the screen. The End
