Like "The Second Element", the song used here is from the album "Dive", sung by Sarah Brightman. It's quite similar to TSE, but this one is (I like to think) not as dperessing. ;-) Everyone belongs to Pariott, yadda yadda. But who'll notice if they're missing for a coupla hours? Last Knight spoilers. Song: Seven Seas By Michelle David ****** *Waters deep *And waters blue *That gently flow *From me to you The water lapped at Natalie's feet as the walked along the shoreline. The moon was full, shining over the ocean, reflecting as an eerie white. Last year... Nicholas had walked by her side. Hadn't it been so fine, being near him one last time. Holding him close, remembering the good times, thinking forward to the times to come. He had had to leave. Natalie understood that. Grown tired of life. And Natalie had not wanted to go with him. She wanted to spend her nights like this, at peace with herself, with the world. Simply relaxing, contemplating, thinking. And why had he walked into the sunlight? Was it the only true way to go? He had been tired of life, true, but was it the only cure? Just... leave her. She did not regret it as much as she had thought she would. Not spent her days in endless torment, seeking him, wanting him. She dreamed of him, true, but did it not make her heart warm that for a while, they had been truly happy? The night he had left had been so much like this one. Her and Nick, simply walking along the beach. Quiet, reflective. Watching the changing tides, the changing life. *The colored voice *The vibrant tones *The hidden force *Of the big crystal blue And the night he had told her of his intentions. "Natalie..." he had said, as they shared a bottle of blood. She looked at him with concern. "What?" she asked, softly. He took a sip of his wine. "I'm tired." "Of what?" "Of everything. We gave up searching for the cure twenty years ago. And lately, I've been thinking..." "That you're tired of life?" He nodded. "Exactly." She poured them both another glass. "What do you plan on doing?" He had been silent a long time. "I don't know... walk into the sun." A single tear fell down her face. "You will?" "I've been drawn to the temptation of humanity for so long... So long, I realize that I can't really become mortal. And yet..." "Afterlife? Do you believe you're going to heaven?" Another sip of blood. "Yes." Shortly after, he had walked into the sun. *And by the light *Of the silvery moon *The wild horses *Come running home A single tear fell down her face again, merely at the memory. The red drop traced a trail down her face, red against white. She glanced up at the moon, pulsing silver and white with its radiance. It reflected on her white skin, giving her an ethereal appearance. The foamy waves rushed torwards her, disappating before they could reach her, caress her feet. She sighed in diappointment. Was'nt it like so many things? Almost to her, and yet not being able to get her. *Miles apart *But still entwined *I like to think *That you sit here, too He was by her side, again. His blonde hair blowing in the wind, his hand tightly clasped in hers. He looked at her, her heart melting when she saw his ethereal smile. Oh, how she loved him, needed him, stayed with him through thick and thin. "Natalie," he murmured. "Nicholas?" He held her close, and Natalie felt herself sink into the embrace. "Nat... so many things have happened... and yet you stay by my side. Why?" Natalie thought, paused to consider. "I love you, Nick." They walked about twenty feet. "That's all I need to know." And he was gone. Disappeared into the night. *And let your thoughts *And let your soul *Be gently lulled *By what's in front of you The tears came again, and Natalie allowed them to flow freely. She stared at the ocean, calming her thoughts. Wasn't that why she lives by the shore? To be soothed by the lulling sound of the waves? She used the calming of the ocean often. *Too many a shore *And the distant land *The seas unite *Bringing me to you Natalie closed her eyes. Dreaming of Nick... dreaming of her life... thinking of her future, simply spent in quiet reflection... This was her entire life... But she didn't mind. Because she love, the quiet peace was what kept her alive. And not a bad life at that. ***** The End...?
