From TMP_HARKINS@DIRAC.PHYSICS.JMU.EDUSat Feb 10 19:31:56 1996 Date: Sat, 10 Feb 1996 22:24:42 -0500 From: Sandra Gray To: Multiple recipients of list FKFIC-L Subject: Dark Night (poem) The following poem, Dark Night, was inspired by track 7) The Lost Music of the Vampire and track 8) Ancient Heart of the album (cassette) The Immortal Kiss of the Vampire and by the included narration quote that preceded the songs. "Once you've shared my vision you will fear your own desire And search for your release in the glare of each dark night And you'll remember this confession As an echo in each day's surrender Calling you from your loneliness as you called me from my own." --Laura Blaske Dark Night A rolling thunder haunts my soul Strikes and pounds within my chest And in the pauses comes the rain, Pulsing in my mind and mouth, Urging me to lift my face and drink. You make me feel that there's pure love. You make me feel there can be rest. But in the dark and in my dreams There is no light from up above; Only distant thunder, empty rain, A waiting storm within my breast. I can't be this anymore. --Sandra Gray Copyright 1996 Sandra Gray Please send any comments, criticism, or whatever to: --Sandra Gray, forever Knightie --tmp_harkins@dirac.physics.jmu.edu
